etaView

etaView is a visualisation tool specifically designed for energy markets applications.  etaView features support for:

  • Large data sets;
  • Calendars including NEM Peak/Off Peak periods;
  • Multiple time series;
  • Multiple time windows;
  • Multiple data resolutions; and
  • Exporting to text files.

etaView’s high performance plot functionality and simple user interface allow real-time navigation through the time series being viewed. The user has control over various aspects of the plot including colours, filling and ‘stacking’ options.

etaView supports multiple time windows, data resolutions and statistics. For example, the user can scroll through a half-hourly electricity price series or alternatively view the same series as quarterly flat average prices.

etaView supports averaging at the daily, monthly, quarterly and calendar year levels along with peak/offpeak splits. For example, the user can open a series on half-hourly historical pool prices and quickly calculate the Q1 peak average price to compare against a derivative contract quote.

etaView allows multiple data sets to be overlaid and compared and allows the user to see values at any selected point. The export facility will export the current timeframe to a csv file with a column for each series, date/time index and a peak/offpeak calendar.

etaView supports filling or line plots as well as `stacking’ to get aggregate values (such as portfolio position aggregates by stacking individual swap, futures and option contracts). Any plot may be captured as a vector-graphic PDF format file for printing or inclusion in reports.
